Local businesses take a progressive approach to
combat growing drug problem
Local business owners and operators are banning together
to fight a growing threat to the Rowan community.
In early 2004 about 80 local business leaders, educators,
child care providers and state and local politicians gathered to support
the beginning of what officials hope will become Rowan County’s
Meth Watch Program.

The Rowan County Meth Watch Program is designed
to limit the accessibility of products containing ephedrine or pseudoephedrine.
Rowan Business Alliance and its members are teaming up with local, state
and federal law enforcement officials. Retailers are encouraged to participate
in this important initiative.
